International event rider Bruce “Buck” Davidson Jr. has been in the saddle since birth! While Buck may be known as son of Eventing legend Bruce Davidson, Buck is successful in his own right. His many accomplishments on and off of a horse make for an outstanding athlete, horseman, competitor, trainer, coach and clinician. Buck has been sponsored by Ovation Riding since 2010.

Buck’s most recognized partner Ballynoe Castle RM is a 2000 Belgian Warmblood/Irish Thoroughbred cross (Ramiro B x Ballyvaldon Natalie) gelding. “Reggie” is named after superstar athlete Reggie Miller. Buck and Reggie have been long-time partners competing multiple times at Rolex (placing 4th in 2013 and 3rd in 2014), they represented the U.S. at the 2010 World Equestrian Games and traveled to England as alternates for the United States eventing Olympic squad in 2008. Reggie is often seen at events around the country including Galway and Richland.

Buck currently has over 30 horses in his program including: Copper Beach (10 yr old Irish Sport Horse), Halimey (11 yr old Trakehner), Victor BZ (6 yr old Warmblood), Carlevo (9 yr old Holsteiner) and Park Trader (14 yr old Irish Thoroughbred).

Buck Davidson has dominated the United States Eventing Association leaderboard over the last five years, earning the top rider honor four out of five times including 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2016 he won the CCI3* on Copper Beach and CCI2* on Halimey at Rebecca Farms, Montana.

What are Buck’s goals? Buck will be competing at Plantation and Fairhill this fall.

What are Buck’s can’t live without Ovation products? Buck wears Ovation breeches and has for a number of years. With over 30 horses in his program he spends many hours in the saddle and the Ovation breeches are comfortable and last amazingly well.

Something you might not know about Buck. Buck made the Dean’s List at his high school “Lawrenceville Prep School, Lawrenceville NJ”. He also played varsity soccer, baseball and hockey. He is a well rounded athlete and was a very competitive player.
